28-29 th May, Pécs, National Speed Championship
Although there were several pilots from Székesfehérvár and Fejér county taking part in the national speed race, most of the onlookers kept an eye on László Szász in the national speed championship in Abaliget. László Szász won eighteen categories in the 43. race with his Reynard-Zytek F-3000 car, and he overtook seventy pilots with his time on the 3100 meter long winding mountain road. He was faster than the second israelian Chanoch Nissany, who started in the color of Szász Motorsport in the hungarian championship.
_ It is absolutly not suprising, this was the form on paper_ said László Szász after the race _  I had to overcome the car of Nissany in Pécs. We started with different cars, so it’s no use to compare the results.
_ Before this many people said that your track-record could be in danger in Pécs…
_Breaking my record didn’t come trough. I don’t want to blame the  quality of the track for it, but in fact, that the asphalt was sunk and it had melted in the heat. It happened first of all in the fast parts of the road, where you could have had chance to save time. Yet, I say that if the settings of the car is perfect, I could have been faster. So far we are far from the 100 percent. László Szász considered the hungarian championship important, so he missed a foreign Europ-cup because of Pécs. But he can’t do this on the next week, so he is starting on the track called Ecce homo in Sternberck, Czech Republic.
