Gerlos 2002
László Szász didn't have too
much time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings as similarly to the
previous races the Alpentsrtaße was a real challenge. However
he had a good basis: in 2001 he won here and on the Saturday trainings
he achieved good time-results. The circuit in Gerlos is 8 km long
among clefts, waterfalls, giant pine-trees and rocky walls. Among
the 150 racers there was only one who could mean a real rival to
László Szász, Neuhauser. At the first run Szász
had a brilliant time, 3'02", but Neuhauser was better, although
it was a near go. Thus László got the 2nd place.
