2001 St.Anton

The team arrived in the St. Anton on Friday night after travelling 500 km. The weather was very pleasant in this beautiful little Austrian mountain village. The circuit is a fast 3,8 km long section with only one hairpin bend, so here the horsepowers really matter. The record here was held by Walter Leitgeb for him this circuit is a homeground. On all the three trainings he was the fastest, too. László couldn't keep up with him.
On the Sunday race László did his best, but it seemed that nobody could stop his rival. Leitgeb's time was 1:09,64 while László had 1:13,75. During the second run almost every racer did a worse time due to the oil staines on the road, but still Leitgeb was the fastest with 1:17,42. Luckily at this race there are three runs and only the two better are taken into consideration. Before the third run the question was wether László could make a fantastic time or Leitgeb would make a mistake and loose seconds. But Leitgeb was good again, he even broke his own record and had 1:09,17. László Szász came in second with his 1:14,15.
